Two people from Greer were arrested this week after trying to fill fraudulent prescriptions for Oxycodone and Adderall at Rock Hill pharmacies, according to Rock Hill Police reports.
Narcotics investigators were advised that 23-year-old Jessica Rene Hollingsworth and 24-year-old Lance Casey Tew dropped off the fraudulent prescriptions at the Walgreens on Cherry Road and the CVS on Celanese Road on Wednesday, said Marvin Brown, commander of York County's Drug Enforcement Unit.
Police arrested Hollingsworth and Tew at the CVS, the reports state.
In addition to trying to obtain "trafficking amounts" of Oxycodone, Brown said, they had other drugs with them in Rock Hill.
Oxycodone is used as "synthetic heroin," Brown said. "It is the most abused drug out there right now," he said.
Pharmacy employees noticed that the prescriptions were not written from a local doctor, Brown said, which is a "red flag."
Rock Hill officers found Hollingsworth and Tew with 18 units of Alprazolam, "with the intent to distribute," the report states.
Police seized, among other items, a blank prescription pad, according to the report, and $6,212 in cash from Hollingsworth.
Hollingsworth and Tew are each charged with possession with intent to distribute near a school Oxycodone and Alprazolam, trafficking Oxycodone and possession of a prescription pad, according to police.
Tew also has been charged with resisting police, the report states. He's being held at Moss Justice Detention Center in York on a $53,500 bond. Hollingsworth is being held at the detention center on a $96,500 bond.
