Danbury women arrested on drug charges - Danbury News Times

DANBURY -- A raid by Danbury's Special Investigative Division on Friday led to the arrest of two city women on charges of selling crack cocaine.

Lydia Taylor, 45, and Victoria Pileggi, 43, both of 64 Bells Lane, were held on $200,000 and $100,000 bond, respectively.

Search and seizure warrants were served at the women's home at about 3:30 p.m. Friday, after an investigation into crack sales there, police said. Members of the Special Investigations Division, Community Conditions Unit and Special Victims United executed the warrants.

The search found a substantial amount of crack cocaine packaged for sale and assorted paraphernalia, police said.

Taylor and Pileggi were each was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession with intent to sell, possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of public housing, possession of drug paraphernalia and risk of injury to a minor.

Because the investigation revealed the illegal drugs were being sold openly in the presence of several children that lived in the apartment, the state Department of Children & Families was notified, police said. DCF assisted in providing suitable arrangements for the children, according to police.
