Drifting driver is arrested in Parsippany for drugs - NorthJersey.com

Parsippany Police Officer Matthew LaManna conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 46 East just east of South Edwards Road at 12:54 a.m. on Dec. 13 after a vehicle traveling in front of his patrol vehicle drifted in the lanes of travel.

After interviewing the driver, as well as a passenger, Brittney Fishinger, 22, of Matawan was arrested after it was reportedly discovered that she identified herself with another name to avoid being arrested for two outstanding arrest warrants. The first was issued by the East Brunswick Municipal Court for $259 and the second was out of the Old Bridge Township Municipal Court for $428.

Fishinger was also charged with hindering apprehension and released from Parsippany Police custody pending a court appearance.

The driver, Alexis Diaz, 30, of Jersey City, was arrested after eight grams of cocaine and a machete were found subsequent to a warrant that was issued for a search of the vehicle. An application for forfeiture was submitted for the impounded vehicle valued at $4,900.

Diaz was charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, possession of a weapon while intending to distribute cocaine and issued a motor vehicle summons for tinted windows. Diaz was turned over to the custody of the Morris County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.
