A HOPE Island man has been arrested after he was allegedly found with an arsenal of guns, silencers, ammunition, drugs, cash and even a ballistic vest hidden in his car.
The 27-year-old man and his two companions - a 23-year-old Gold Coast man and a 25-year-old woman - were arrested yesterday afternoon by detectives from the Major and Organised Crime Squad and the Gold Coast CIB.
Detectives searched a car and a house, allegedly finding a stash of weapons, cash and drugs.
Police say a search of the car found numerous guns and other weapons, including ammunition, two handgun silencers, four extendable batons, a ballistic vest, capsicum spray, handcuffs, drugs and more than $100,000.
Inside the house, they allegedly found drugs, a gun, an extendable baton and more cash.
The Hope Island man has been charged with possessing dangerous drugs, trafficking dangerous drugs, possession of firearms and possession of a restricted item.
He will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.
The man and woman are assisting police with their inquiries.
Police say investigations into "the source of the weapons" are continuing.
