SINGAPORE - A 43-year-old man has been arrested for exposing himself in the Holland Avenue area.
They received a report on Sep 29 at about 12 pm about a man exposed himself to a female victim in the Holland Avenue area.
After an initial unsuccessful search, they conducted follow-up investigations and used the descriptions provided by the victim to establish the identity of the suspect.
He was placed under arrest on Oct 3 at abou 10.45am.
The suspect is believed to be involved in another similar case in the vicinity of Holland Close.
He will be charged in Court on October 4 for an offence of Obscene Act under Section 294 (a) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he can be jailed up to three months, fined, or both.
Commander of Clementi Police Division Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Melvin Yong commended his officers for their policing work.
DAC Yong advised members of the public to adopt the following measures if they have similar encounters:
- Try to stay composed
- Take note of the descriptions of the perpetrator as much as possible, such as his appearance, clothing, height and other physical details
- Take note the direction and mode of escape by the perpetrator
- Call the Police as soon as it is safe to do so.
