WINTER HAVEN, Florida -- Winter Haven police arrested a 21-year-old man Saturday after they say he kicked in the door of a former girlfriend's apartment and pulled a gun on her.
According to police, Andree Romeus pulled the gun on Ashanti Parker, then stole items belonging to her. He also allegedly damaged other items in the apartment. Police say Parker was unharmed during the incident.
Romeus fled, but police found him and took him into custody. They say he had a stolen .45 caliber handgun, more than 170 grams of marijuana, Xanax pills, digital scales, and other drug paraphernalia.
Romeus is charged with armed burglary of a dwelling; aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; grand theft; possession of marijuana over 20g.; possession of a controlled substance; grand theft of a firearm; criminal mischief; and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported and booked into the Polk County Jail.
