Montclair Man Among Three Arrested on Drug Charges - Patch.com

A Montclair man was one of three arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Michael Nides, 25, was arrested last week by Colorado River Station deputies, along with Raymond Salaiz, a 34-year-old Rosemead man and Summer Kelley, 35, according to a news release.

On Nov. 14, Riverside County Sheriff's Department deputies with the Colorado River Station responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on the westbound Interstate 10 near Wiley's Well Road.  A witness reportedly told deputies of seeing the vehicle on the side of the freeway pick up a subject who had just walked out of the desert area north of the Ironwood State Prison, authorities said.

Members of the California Department of Corrections Investigation Unit and United States Border Patrol agents followed shoe impressions through the desert to the north fence of prison and found a bag with illegal contraband just inside the facility's fence.  A joint investigation revealed that Salaiz allegedly entered the prison grounds and dropped off the bag, authorities said.  Salaiz was booked into Blythe Jail for violation of probation and felony on prison grounds.  His bail is set at $75,000.

Nides was arrested on $5,000 bail and later booked into Blythe Jail for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.  Kelley was released from custody with no charges pending.

The Department of Corrections is investigating Salaiz for allegedly bringing contraband into a prison facility.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the Colorado River Station at 760-921-7900.
