West Des Moines Retail Worker Says He's Being Harassed for Calling Out ... - Patch.com

A mall kiosk employee told West Des Moines Police last week that one of his co-workers has been harassing him after he called him out for unprofessional behavior in front of customers.

The tension between the two has been ongoing, Officer Jason Lichty wrote in his report. Problems escalated after the reporting party, a 17-year-old male, confronted the suspect for making an obscene gesture as he was helping several customers at the kiosk in Valley West Mall.

As they closed up for the evening, the reporting party reportedly told his co-worker his behavior "wasn't cool." Since then, the suspect reportedly has been "staring him down … and threatening to take him outside and work him over," according to the report.

The reporting party told police that he has been acquainted with his co-worker, whose last name he said he didn't know, "for a while." They have done drugs together in the past and the suspect has been asking him to acquire drugs for him, the reporting party said, but said he declined.

He thinks that's one of the reasons tensions between the two escalated.

On Nov. 20, the suspect reportedly approached the victim and his girlfriend as they ate at a table in the mall food court, "got into his face and called him more names."

After the suspect reportedly pushed the victim, he reported him to mall security. Later that night as the victim walked home, the suspect reportedly followed him in his SUV and "told him he would find him outside of work," but fled when he saw the victim call 911 on his cell phone.
