Wyoming man arrested for drug possession by state police in Oceana County - Muskegon Chronicle - MLive.com

HART TOWNSHIP, MI – Michigan State Police troopers arrested a 20-year-old Wyoming man for drug possession on Jan. 11, according to a press release issued by the police.

Troopers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle violation at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Friday near U.S. 31 and Polk Road, said Sergeant Andrew Ambrose.

After speaking with the man, troopers determined that he was in possession of prescription medication that was not prescribed to him, according to the release.

Ambrose said they believe that the drugs found in the vehicle are "a controlled substance Schedule II narcotic."

The drugs have been sent to the Michigan State Police Laboratory for chemical analysis, he said.

The man was lodged at the Oceana County Jail for possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, which is a felony and punishable by up to two years in prison, according to police.

The man's name has been withheld, pending arraignment.
