NOVI (WXYZ) - The motto at Detroit Catholic Central High School is "Teach Me Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge", but now the school's Athletic Director, Aaron Babicz, is apologizing for a picture of him that does not display the traditional values the all-male school strives to maintain.
Babicz, 37, and a friend are seen in the photo making obscene gestures their middle fingers.
The color photo was copied onto flyers with a caption that reads "Our AD what now???". On the bottom of the flyer it reads, "Facebook September 2012 1:15 am".
Someone anonymously sent the flyers to number of Catholic Central teachers.
The school's Principal, Father John Huber, tells 7 Action News, "While we are disappointed that Mr. Babicz had a temporary lapse of judgment in his personal life for a couple of seconds, he is sorry for that, and we accept his apology. But we think the real issue is the evil action of maliciously distributing such a photo".
Father Huber says they are trying to determine if someone accessed the school's database to retrieve the home addresses of teachers.
"If something illegal has gone on we will prosecute to the fullest extend because this is cruel," says Huber.
Huber would not discuss any discipline Babicz might face, calling it an internal matter.
