Drug pusher, 13, arrested - New Straits Times

MUAR: Police have arrested a 13-year-old believed to be a drug dealer and are trying to ascertain how he got involved in the illicit business.

It is learnt the teen, a school dropout, had been selling drugs, including heroin and syabu, for the past six months.

Speaking at a press conference here yesterday, Muar district police chief Superintendent Sahadan Jaafar said the teen had been working together with two accomplices aged 34 and 53.

"We arrested the teen and his accomplices during a raid at a house in Kampung Kelantan, Parit Perupok here at 4.30pm on Wednesday," Sahadan said at the Muar district police headquarters yesterday.

According to Sahadan, the trio were packing the drugs for distribution when they were detained. Police seized syabu weighing a total of 4.4 grammes, 20.9g of heroin and some Esctasy pills worth more than RM12,000 during the raid. They estimated that the drugs could be supplied to about 900 drug users.

"Preliminary investigations revealed that the teen is from Kajang, Selangor, and is no longer studying. He is not related to the two men and has been involved in the trade for the past six months.

"The other two suspects, who are locals, have previous records for violent crimes."

Sahadan said the 53-year-old suspect had five previous records since 1991 while his 34-year-old accomplice had four drug-related offences.

The three suspects, who tested positive for heroin, have been remanded until Dec 28.
