Two people were killed in an execution-like shooting in the parking lot of a Bronx motel early this morning. The incident happened outside the Holiday Motel on the New England Thruway around 3:15 a.m. According to witnesses, the shooter first approached the 50-year-old man, and shot him several times in the back when he tried to flee. Then he turned toward the 38-year-old woman standing near a parked Toyota Camry, whose motor was still running: "I looked out my window and saw a lady standing there," Ricky Gugitta, who was staying in a nearby room with some friends celebrating a pal's birthday, told the Daily News. "She was begging him not to shoot her, but then he shot her twice and she went down."
One witness said the woman screamed, "Don't do it! Don't do it!" Damone Jackson told the News he was pulling out of the lot with his girlfriend after they decided to go to another motel when the gunfire erupted: "I saw the guy running around. He was dancing all over the place," Jackson said. "Then, I heard the shots. It sounded like about 30 shots. It was like two clips worth."
The suspect has been described as a bald man, and he sped away in a blue Honda sedan. The victims haven't been identified yet, no arrests have been made, and police say the investigation is ongoing.
