Personnel of the Tetuan Police Station arrested two notorious drug pushers during two separate anti-narcotic operations conducted at dawn yesterday along Tetuan Highway and Veterans Extension, both in Barangay Tetuan, this city.
Tetuan Police Station commander Chief Inspector Elmer Acuña identified the suspects as Bryan Sahiron y Salimbong, 24, married, of Baliwasan Grande, Barangay Baliwasan, and Alden Jundam y Kiram, 29, of Maluso, Basilan Province.
Acuña said that Sahiron delivered to the police poseur-buyer a sachet of heat-sealed transparent plastic containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
He added that Sahiron was held at about 1:35 a.m. Sunday while on board his Honda XRM colored red and white with plate number 8680 JR.
Acuña told Zamboanga Today that during the follow-up operation, Jundam was arrested beside Western Mindanao Medical Center (WMMC) while on his way to the boarding house at about 2:50 a.m., also Sunday.
Operatives confiscated from his possession and control were a plastic transparent sachet of alleged shabu and a black widow Caliber .22 Revolver loaded with 4 live ammunitions in the cylinder ball.
The suspects were brought to the police station for investigation and detention while the recovered motorcycle was impounded for safekeeping.
Both will be charged for violation of R.A. 9165, otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, in court and Jundam will face another case for violation of R.A. 9284, illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions.
